Vectren enhances gas and electric residential and small business appliance rebate programs

Evansville, Ind. - Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana (Vectren) will continue to offer its gas and electric customers energy efficiency programs, which include cash rebates for replacing existing gas and electric equipment with high efficiency models. New to the rebate program for 2015 is a $100 rebate toward a Wi- Fi enabled programmable thermostat, and the rebate for electric appliance recycling has climbed from
$30 to $50.
"Efficiency programs play a vital role in the energy needs of our customers, and Vectren is committed to continuing to promote and drive participation in our 2015 programs," said Robbie Sears, vice president of customer energy solutions.
The tiered rebate structure for residential natural gas and electric appliances is based on the level of efficiency and the initial cost to the consumer; as the efficiency rate increases, so does the rebate amount.
Vectren electric customers can still redeem cash rebates toward central air conditioners and heat pumps as in years past. For a complete listing of all residential electric rebates, click here. For an updated list of business rebates, click here.
Customers with Vectren natural gas service will once again be offered cash rebates toward natural gas furnaces, residential boilers as well as attic and wall insulation. "We want to encourage customers to choose the most efficient appliances possible. Energy efficient appliances deliver substantial savings over their operating life and our rebates help customers to overcome the increased initial investment," said Sears.
Since its inception in 2006, Vectren's natural gas conservation programs have saved nearly 80 million therms of natural gas statewide, which is enough energy to heat 99,000 homes for a year.
Vectren's electric energy efficiency programs, offered since 2010, have saved more than 185 million kilowatt-hours (kWh), which is enough energy to power nearly 17,000 homes.
Vectren's rebate forms can be found at www.vectren.com/saveenergy. Forms can be completed online or printed and submitted within 60 days of equipment installation.
