Utah Medical Products Inc. announced audited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $8.852 million compared to $9.582 million a year ago. Operating income of $3.621 million compared to $3.806 million a year ago. Net income of $2.717 million or $0.725 per share compared to a $3.211 million or $0.852 per share a year ago. Income before income tax was $3.650 million against $3.826 million for the last year.
For the year, the company reported net sales of $39.298 million compared to $40.157 million a year ago. Operating income of $16.187 million compared to $15.651 million a year ago. Net income of $12.128 million or $3.220 per share compared to an $11.843 million or $3.140 per share a year ago. MUC-X is an aspiration device used immediately after birth to clear neonatal respiratory passages and reduce exposure to potential infections. AROM-CO is a finger cover with a prong designed to rupture maternal membranes with less patient pain and anxiety.
