VANCOUVER, Jan. 16, 2014 /CNW/ - UrtheCast Corp. (TSX:UR) ("UrtheCast" or the "Company") announced today that the syndicate of underwriters led by Clarus Securities Inc., and including Cormark Securities Inc. and Canaccord Genuity Corp., have exercised in full their over-allotment option to purchase an additional 681,825 common shares of the Company at a price of $2.20 per common share in connection with their previously announced bought deal public offering which was completed on December 19, 2013. As a result of the exercise of the over-allotment option, UrtheCast received additional gross proceeds of $1.5 million for total gross proceeds of $11.5 million.

The Company intends to add the additional net proceeds from the exercise of the over-allotment option to the Company's working capital and anticipates that the net proceeds will primarily be used for commissioning and commercialization of the Company's cameras, regulatory and operational costs and development of infrastructure in furtherance of the Company's business plan and for general corporate purposes.
