Transport Corp. of India Ltd. reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net sales and income from operations of INR 4,920.1 million against INR 4,643.5 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 236.3 million against INR 267.5 million a year ago. Net profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 157.5 million against INR 190.2 million a year ago. Net profit after taxes was INR 113.4 million against INR 135.0 million a year ago. Diluted EPS was INR 1.55 against INR 1.84 a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported net sales and income from operations of INR 14,195.8 million against INR 13,329.3 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 752.5 million against INR 803.5 million a year ago. Net profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 527.5 million against INR 571.8 million a year ago. Net profit after taxes was INR 380.8 million against INR 406.9 million a year ago. Diluted EPS was INR 5.21 against INR 5.58 a year ago.
