Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation Wins Order in Thailand for Four Combined Cycle Cogeneration Plants

Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation, together with its consolidated subsidiary TPSC (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and in cooperation with Sumitomo Corporation, has been awarded an order for the construction of four new combined cycle cogeneration power plants in Thailand.
The projects awarded in this order are one new 130MW power plant to be constructed within the Hemaraj Chonburi Industrial Estate by Bowin Clean Energy Limited, and three 120MW power plants to be added to the Amata City Industrial Estate by Amata B. Grimm Power Limited (the city's power plants 3-5). Based on the Thai government's SPP1 program, electricity from the plants will be sold to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and the plants will supply surplus power and steam generation to the industrial estates. As the EPC2 contractor, Toshiba Plant Systems & Services will be responsible for supplying the engineering and power plants facilities, as well as civil engineering, construction, installation, testing and adjustments in a full-turnkey operation. The four projects will be delivered in 26 months, with construction work to
begin in succession after September 2014.
Bowin Clean Energy and Amata B. Grimm Power are both subsidiaries funded by B. Grimm Power Limited. Since 2010 Toshiba Plant Systems & Services has received orders from the B. Grimm Power group for a total of five power plants, including Amata Nakorn plants 3-5 and Amata City plants 1-2, and has completed construction (Nakorn plants 4 and 5 are currently under construction). This new order is an acknowledgement of the customer's appreciation for the technological capabilities of Toshiba Plant Systems & Services, backed by its extensive track record.
Toshiba Plant Systems & Services has a strong record of experience particularly in Southeast Asia with EPC projects for thermal power plants, supply and installation projects for individual main engines (turbine generators), and supply of BOPs (supplementary equipment to the main engine). Demand for electric power is strengthening in the region, both in Thailand and in neighboring countries, and Toshiba Plant Systems & Services will continue to participate actively in bidding for power projects and expand its business to meet these needs.

1. SPP: Small Power Producers; private, independent power producers that have received approval to sell power to EGAT through construction of small and mid-sized power plants.

2. EPC: Packaged orders that encompass engineering, procurement, and construction.
