The Buckle, Inc. announced sales results for the 5-week period and 48-week period ended December 31, 2016. The company announced that comparable store net sales, for stores open at least one year, for the 5-week period ended December 31, 2016 decreased 15.5% in comparison to comparable store net sales for the 5-week period ended January 2, 2016. Net sales for the 5-week fiscal month ended December 31, 2016 decreased 15.1% to $154.6 million compared to net sales of $182.1 million for the prior year 5-week fiscal month ended January 2, 2016.
Comparable store net sales year-to-date for the 48-week period ended December 31, 2016 decreased 13.3% from comparable store net sales for the 48-week period ended January 2, 2016. Net sales for the 48-week fiscal period ended December 31, 2016 decreased 12.7% to $931.0 million from net sales of $1.067 billion for the prior year 48-week fiscal period ended January 2, 2016.
