SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 23, 2014) - Telenav, Inc. (NASDAQ: TNAV), the leader in personalized navigation, announced today the growth of its Scout product leadership team through the addition of Rohan Chandran and Hossam Bahlool. Chandran and Bahlool join a growing list of talent from successful technology companies.

Rohan Chandran, Head of Consumer Products and Global Services
Chandran joins Telenav from Technorati, where he was a senior vice president, responsible for leading product management, marketing, business development, and custom solutions for the popular blog search engine and advertising network. He also served as head of consumer products at YP where he helped grow its mobile and web products to more than 70 million unique visitors a month, with a team of more than 20 product managers, user experience professionals, and data specialists. Chandran will work with product, design and marketing teams to build Scout into a multi-screen service and continue to enhance its global Search & Discovery and Traffic & Navigation services that are used across the Scout product portfolio.

"I'm excited to leverage my mobile, local, and search experience and work with the team to evolve Scout from a product you use for a specific need, to an experience that is integrated into your daily life," said Chandran.

Hossam Bahlool, Head of Automotive Products
Most recently, Bahlool co-founded Jingu Apps, the first mobile-only social discovery platform that grew to be one of the most popular messaging apps with more than 15 million downloads. Rebellion Media acquired Jingu Apps in 2012. Prior to that, he was director of product management at BlackBerry for seven years, including BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), App World, developer SDKs, and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Bahlool helped build BBM's active user base to 60 million. At Telenav, Bahlool will leverage his mobile and social background to focus on a user-centric approach to bring the complete Scout experience into the car and create new products for car buyers and automakers.

"The car is a very personal, mobile device that is rapidly evolving and taking on similar characteristics as the smartphone," said Bahlool. "We're using our mobile app history to make the in-car navigation experience more personalized and seamless for drivers as they go from the couch to the car to the coffee shop."

"Our goal is to make Scout available to more people in more places and become the go-to app when you're on the go," said Dariusz Paczuski, general manager of Scout at Telenav. "Rohan and Hossam have a proven track record of building global products that people love and use every day and we're excited to have them join the team."
