Sun Hung Kai Properties : SHKP named Caring Company for 16th straight year

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) has long put its Building Homes with Heart philosophy into practice by proactively contributing to the community. It was recently designated a Caring Company for the 16th consecutive year and the same recognition for its 84 related entities. A total of 36 SHKP entities ranging from shopping malls, property management, and construction to hotel business, have earned the recognition for the 10th or even 15th year, reflecting the Group's dedication toward caring for the community, helping the underprivileged, and building a sense of corporate social responsibility for community development.

Committed to establishing a long-term relationship with its employees, SHKP values talent and cares for employees' physical and mental wellbeing as well as family needs. The Group, who is recognized as a distinguished family-friendly employer by the Family Council, has implemented a host of measures which benefit staff and their family, including flexible working hours, breastfeeding rooms at work, scholarships for children of staff, and much more. Externally, the Group plays an active role in caring for and investing in the society. Through the SHKP Reading Club, it promotes the joy of reading and the importance of developing a reading habit among the general public as well as younger generations by various initiatives. These include sponsoring a free multimedia reading platform linepaper, organizing a diverse range of activities to create a fun and joyful reading atmosphere, and launching Read and Share programme to promote reading and holistic development at local primary and secondary schools.

Moreover, the Group encourages a healthy and sustainable lifestyle through staging the SHKP Vertical Run for Charity and Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon every year that benefit worthy causes. With hope of building a more caring and harmonious community, the Group also shows care for the underprivileged and local youth through the Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative, the Social Inclusion for the Underprivileged initiative, the Modern Apprenticeship Programme, the Hong Kong X-Tech Startup Platform, plus the donation of land to the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council for the construction of their integrated service complex, and SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation scholarships. It also motivates employees to give back through volunteering and community giving.
