Cicero, Inc. announced the release of Cicero Discovery 4.0, desktop analytics software that assists companies in identifying areas for improvement in business processes, compliance, training, and application usage. Cicero Discovery is an agile and easily configurable tool to collect activity and application performance data and track business objects across time and multiple users, as well as measure against a defined "expected" business process flow, for either analysis or to feed a third party application. Cicero Discovery gathers data about user activities: the business processes they follow, the applications they run and how those applications are used, and the general health of their computer.

This data can be collected and stored centrally and can be tracked both in real-time and for historical reporting. The new release of Cicero Discovery 4.0 includes: Full support for Citrix and other multi-user/virtual environments; Enhanced database efficiency; More events captured including power and print spool events; Enhanced triggers for PCI compliance and other integration projects; System administration and reporting -- updated administration environment for improved ease of use and enhanced security features; additional reporting options provided via OEM version of the LogiXML reporting system; Enhancements to Cicero Discovery Subscription Service or CDSS -- improved performance of real-time data feeds for passing data to partner applications at desktop as well as on the server. Cicero customers and partners are using Cicero Discovery to: Identify process bottlenecks and target areas for automation; Measure idle time, time spent on certain processes, and repetitive and manual tasks; Monitor for compliance issues such as PCI, HIPAA and other business rules; Identify data entry issues and training deficiencies; Measure application and network performance to identify areas of improvement.
