HAMILTON, Bermuda. January 10, 2021 -- SiriusPoint Ltd. ("SiriusPoint" or the "Company") (NYSE: SPNT), a global specialty insurer and reinsurer, has appointed Ari Chester as Head of US and Canada Reinsurance.

Ari will be responsible for managing the US and Canadian business across Property Treaty, Casualty Treaty, and other specialist lines. Ari moves into this role from Chief Operating Officer, Americas Reinsurance at SiriusPoint, replacing industry veteran Warren Trace who has retired.

Prior to joining SiriusPoint in early 2021, Ari was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he held leadership roles in underwriting, risk, and strategy serving insurance and reinsurance companies in the US, Bermuda, London Market, and Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University and an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Ari holds the CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation and is currently on the 2022 Leadership Council for the Institute's CPCU Society.

"I am delighted to welcome Ari to this role," said David Govrin, Global Chief Underwriting Officer and President, Americas Reinsurance. "With his broad industry experience and outstanding contribution since joining SiriusPoint, Ari will be instrumental in advancing our efforts to continue building our business, modernizing our platform, and supporting strategic growth for SiriusPoint."

"It is exciting to step into this role," said Ari. "Having gotten to know our underwriting teams over the last several months, SiriusPoint has world class talent and punches well above its weight."

Ari replaces Warren Trace as Head of US and Canada. Warren has retired after 38 years of service at Sirius Group and predecessor companies. Prior to the merger of Sirius Group and Third Point Re last year, Warren acted as President of North America Reinsurance and Deputy CUO for the Americas at Sirius Group. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Sirius Bermuda.

Monica Cramer Manhem, President International Reinsurance, said: "Warren has been a true industry leader. I value him as both a colleague and a friend, and we will miss his presence. I am grateful for Warren's passion, his dedication to our company and the numerous people he has mentored and generously shared his time and expertise with. We all wish him well in his retirement. Ari has played an instrumental role in the launch of SiriusPoint, and I look forward to our continued collaboration and future successes."
