March 16, 2023 - Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS) today (3/16) held the Board meeting and approved 2022 financial results. SAS 2022 consolidated revenue totaled NT$81.9 billion with YoY 18.9%; gross profit of NT$31.9 billion, with YoY increase of 30.2%, gross profit margin of 39%; operating income of NT$25.4 billion, with YoY 40.5%, operating income margin of 31%; pre-tax income of NT$20.8 billion, with YoY 21.1%, pre-tax income margin of 25.4%; net income of NT$16.2 billion, with YoY 28.1%, net income margin of 19.7%; net income attributed to the parent company NT$8.7 billion, with YoY 28%, net income attributed to the parent company margin of 10.6%; 2022 EPS reached NT$14.87, increasing by NT$3.25 compared to 2021 EPS of NT$11.62!

Q422 revenue reached NT$21.2 billion,consolidated revenue in January and February 2023 reached NT$6.67 billion and NT$6.73 billion respectively, both rose to the highest in the same period in history. In terms of profitability, the gross profit margin of FY2022 reached 39%, EPS amounted to NT$14.87, the best ever! Its semiconductor subsidiary, GlobalWafers (GWC), FY2022 revenue totaled NT$70.3 billion, and Q422 revenue reached NT$18.4 billion with 12 consecutive quarters of growth! FY2022 gross profit margin hit 43.2%, EPS amounted to NT$35.31, both record high!

The energy crisis has led to spiking electricity cost, sparking reappraisal of energy policies in many nations which aims to boost local renewable energy infrastructure in order to mitigate dependence in the imported energy. Research projects that the installation of renewable energy capacity has accelerated rapidly, and the solar PV is set to be the largest source of power capacity in 2027.
