The board of directors of Silk Road Logistics Holdings Limited provided that based on the preliminary review of the consolidated management accounts of the Group, it is expected that the unaudited interim results of the Group may record a loss for the six months ended 30 June 2020 (the "Interim Results") as compared with a profit for the six months ended 30 June 2019. The commodities markets were seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, energy and metals commodities were the most affected by the abrupt and widespread shutdown of economic activity, leading to the Group having nil commodities trading business in this period, and thus recording a loss.
