Silicon Image (NASDAQ: SIMG), a leading provider of HD connectivity solutions, today announced the world's first full bandwidth, dual-mode HDMI® 2.0/MHL® 3.0 integrated circuit (IC) with full support for HDCP 2.2 - supporting content owners' requirements to ensure the secure delivery of premium content.

The SiI9777 supports 4K Ultra HD video, as outlined in the latest HDMI 2.0 specification, allowing manufacturers to build televisions and set-top boxes that transmit 4K video at 60 frames per second. The SiI9777 also supports 4K video input from MHL 3.0-enabled smartphones and tablets. The dual-mode Sil9777 HDMI 2.0/MHL 3.0 port processor is expected to sample to customers during the first quarter of 2014.
