Servelec, the leading provider of health, social care and education software, is pleased to announce its membership of INTEROPen.

INTEROPen is an open collaboration of individuals, industry, standards organisations and health and care providers who have agreed to work together to accelerate the development of open standards for interoperability in the health and social care sector.

The group aims to provide a forum to collaborate on the design and application of technical interoperability standards and areas covered include data exchange, defining APIs and governance.

Sue Hawkswell, Managing Director at Servelec Healthcare, said:

'Servelec is pleased to become a member of INTEROpen and we look forward to collaborating on the development of open standards for interoperability in health and social care. We recognise there are integration challenges that exist across the care services and current approaches do not fit the needs of policy or aspirations of an evolving market. Servelec is committed to ensuring information systems are a key enabler of integrated care. We are already working with customers to share data across the care settings and we are proud to be making a significant contribution to help deliver the new models of integrated care set out in the Five Year Forward View.'
