SERNEKE publ : becomes partner in the Fjätervålen ski resort

Serneke will become a 40-percent shareholder in the Fjätervålen ski resort by investing SEK 10 million. The decision was approved by the Annual General Meeting of Fjätervålen AB's at the weekend. Serneke's vision for the venture encompasses a long-term upgrade of the facility and a training center for the company's employees.

'We consider Fjätervålen an exceptional ski resort offering numerous favorable values, although it needs to be upgraded to be sustainable in the long-term. An upgrade of this kind takes time, resources and dedication, which Serneke is able to offer,' says Ola Serneke, President and CEO of Serneke Group.

'We are a growing group, whose personnel is an important resource that should be nurtured. We see a sustainable investment in Fjätervålen as a means of providing great recreation opportunities for our employees. We also have a vision of creating a training center for Serneke Group employees here,' he continues.

The initiatives that Serneke seeks to make in Fjätervålen will be planned and determined together with the other owners of the resort. The facility, run by Fjätervålen AB, is today owned by approximately 400 people, all with a connection to Fjätervålen and there are some 250 privately owned cabins in the area.

'It is not our ambition to overly exploit the area. Instead, we see this as an opportunity to develop Fjätervålen into a really fine recreational and educational destination, retaining much of the facility's established character,' says Ola Serneke.
