SCANA Corporation : SCANA Names Phalen Senior Vice President of Administration

In his new role, Phalen will be responsible for SCANA's human resources, communications and strategic planning, corporate security, and facilities. "We're facing a future of rapid change that can impact our organization on many fronts," said SCANA CEO Kevin Marsh. "Our human resources and strategic planning efforts play a critical role in that future. With Marty's proven experience in these areas, he's positioned well to lead our efforts." Phalen has 24 years of experience with SCANA, having served as vice president of human resources, vice president of operations, and most recently as vice president of natural gas operations for SCE&G. Phalen joined SCANA in 1988, coming from Cummins Engine Company where he held numerous executive positions in operations and human resources. Born in San Antonio, Phalen is a graduate of the College of Charleston. He is a retired lieutenant colonel, South Carolina Army National Guard. He is a recipient of the Order of the Palmetto and the Palmetto Cross. He has served on numerous charitable boards, including the American Red Cross (Columbia Region) and Children's Trust of South Carolina. Phalen will report directly to Marsh, CEO for SCANA.
