SABIC signed an agreement and a memorandum of understanding with King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) at the latter's headquarters in Riyadh on January 4 to promote cooperation in relief and humanitarian work.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Salah Al-Mazrou, Assistant General Supervisor for Administrative and Financial Affairs at KSrelief; Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Faqeeh, SABIC EVP, Petrochemicals; and a number of executives from both sides.

The cooperation underlines SABIC's constant keenness to promote health as one of the main pillars of the company's social responsibility strategy and reflects its commitment to support proactive initiatives promoting humanitarian and relief work.

It also supports the efforts of individuals, societies, and organizations to curb and mitigate the impact of COVID-19.

The cooperation agreement includes supplying and transporting liquid oxygen to all the countries that are covered by the KSrelief's plan to meet the rising needs of health sectors amid the ongoing crisis.

"Health care is one of the key pillars of our global CSR strategy. SABIC has a history of commitment to healthcare with dedicated teams. In keeping with these goals, we created a new segment, Hygiene & Healthcare (H&H), last year to serve the medical industry in the best way after the COVID-19 pandemic. The collaboration with KSrelief will help us deliver Chemistry That Matters™," said Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, EVP Petrochemicals.

Materials supply was part of SABIC's urgent contributions to several countries since the beginning of the pandemic. SABIC has provided oxygen as well as products related to health care, hygiene and sterilization to promote prevention efforts and protect medical personnel, frontline workers, and the wider community.
