Samsung SDI unveiled four new electric car batteries at the 2015 North American International Automotive Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, United States: the 120Ah High Capacity Battery Cell; the Battery Module, a 60Ah cell interchangeable between plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and pure electric vehicle (EVs); the Compact Design Cell, where height is reduced to that of conventional cylindrical batteries; and, lastly, the Low Voltage System (LVS), which can replace lead-acid batteries. Additionally, the company showcased eco-friendly materials for automotive interiors and exteriors such as the Non-Painting, Metallic Material. Separately, Samsung SDI will reportedly be supplying electric vehicle (EV) batteries to Audi's Q7 diesel PHEV.
