Saipem confirms that the pipelaying vessel Castorone was not damaged in the accident in the Australian offshore.
In a note, the company clarifies that repair activities are underway.
"Initial assessments indicate that the cause of the accident could be a software anomaly under investigation," the note reads.
Yesterday, Saipem had explained that the incident, which did not involve injuries, occurred during a normal pipelaying operation in the Australian pipeline.
