Preliminary sales figures 2009
The preliminary annual sales of Rood Testhouse International N.V. (RoodMicrotec)
decreased by 9% to EUR 11.922 million (2008: EUR 13.057 million). This decrease was
due to the sharp decline in the global semiconductor industry, in particular in
Europe.

Our sales of EUR 6.375 million in the second half of 2009 represented a growth
of 15% compared to RoodMicrotec's sales in the first half of 2009 (EUR 5.547
million). This growth shows that we are recovering from the sharp sales decrease
in the first half of 2009, and confirms our forecast in the business update of
12 November 2009.

'While we still have a long way to go, in terms of sales and results, the
recovery of our sales gives us confidence for the 2010 results. The recovery was
especially evident in the fabless segment. These results back up our strategic
choice for this segment,' said Philip Nijenhuis, CEO of RoodMicrotec.

Business units
The larger part of the sales growth in the second half of 2009 compared to the
first half of 2009 was in Supply Chain Management (+ 120%). However, these sales
had a lower gross margin as a percentage of sales caused by the significantly
higher purchasing volume compared to the other sectors. The Failure & Technology
Analysis and Test Engineering sectors grew by 6% and 9% respectively, while
sales in Qualification fell 1%.

There were, however, major shifts between the various business units. The
following preliminary results were realised in the full year 2009 compared to
2008:

2009                                      change
- Test & Supply Chain Management         EUR 6.655 million              -
approx. 18%:
- Test                                                EUR 4.574 million
              - approx.    39%
- Supply Chain Management                   EUR 2.081 million               +
approx.  236%
-   Failure & Technology Analysis            EUR 1.737 million               +
approx.   4%
-   Test Engineering                             EUR 1.176 million
+ approx. 17%
-   Qualification                                   EUR 2.297 million
              + approx.   1%

Outlook
We anticipate a similar upward trend as we are observing in the global
semiconductor industry, which constitutes a return to the situation preceding
the global crisis. Historically, our growth appears to lag behind by approx.
three months (see diagram).

Order applications increased strongly in the last quarter of 2009. During the
last few weeks of December, this required deploying significantly more labour in
some segments.
In 2010, we will continue to optimise operational effectiveness and strict cost
control.
Based on the strongly increasing order applications, in particular in the
fabless segment, our customers' outlook and the global recovery, we anticipate
an increase of our sales in the full year 2010, with a strong emphasis on the
second half of the year.  In the long term, an average annual sales increase of
between 5% and 15% is considered to be realistic.
