Robeco has appointed Shiro Tsubota as president & representative director for Japan, effective immediately. Tsubota succeeds Kikuo Kuroiwa, former president & representative director for Robeco Japan, who will leave the firm once the smooth management transition has been completed. He reports to Graham Elliot, managing director and head of Asia Pacific distribution based in Hong Kong. In his new role, Tsubota will focus on expanding Robeco's Japan business and continue to offer its investment strategies, including quant, sustainability investing, credit, global and emerging markets equities to Japanese investors. With 20 years of asset management industry experience in Japan, before joining Robeco, Tsubota most recently served as chief executive officer for Henderson Global Investors Japan for five years. Prior to this, he also worked for Pimco, Deutsche Asset Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
