PANGKALPINANG - PT Timah continues to be committed to making improvements in the implementation of occupational health and safety (K3) in the company's business processes. Throughout 2021, PT Timah Tbk managed to record a zero fatality predicate.

The transformation effort with the jargon 'Mucak Budaya K3' implemented by PT Timah Tbk is one of the steps to reduce the number of work accidents carried out by the company. This is indicated by the absence of fatalities in the company's production operations.

Although in the last few years PT Timah Tbk has had an unfavorable report card in terms of the number of work accidents, PT Timah Tbk has succeeded in showing improvement and its commitment to improving safety aspects.

Improvements continue to be carried out massively in the company's internal environment, starting with increasing awareness and making safety a culture, tiered supervision to formulating various regulations.

The Corporate Secretary of PT Timah Tbk, Abdullah Umar Baswedan, said that throughout 2021 the company succeeded in realizing zero fatality. Where K3 is a serious concern for the company in carrying out the company's business processes.

"As a mining company, we have taken a number of serious steps related to improvements in K3 and safety aspects. We are grateful that this year the number of work accidents can be reduced to zero fatality. As a mining company that is oriented to good mining practice, of course the OHS aspect is very important," Abdullah said.

However, he said, the company did not want to be negligent and still maintained the achievements that had been achieved by implementing the "Mucak K3 Culture", carrying out tiered supervision.

"In the future the company will continue to be committed to making safety a work culture and hopefully this achievement can always be maintained in the future," he said. (**)
