Premier is pleased to congratulate the 572 newly-approved and renewing Medicare alternative payment models (APMs) for their selection by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings (MSSP), the Next Generation ACO (NGACO) and Comprehensive End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Care Model (CEC) programs, as well as the 2,893 primary care practices participating in the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) Model.

We particularly commend the 23 ACOs we worked with on successful applications for the past eight months that were all chosen for participation, maintaining our 100 percent success rate in helping more than 80 eligible MSSP and NGACO ACOs implement the capabilities necessary to join these models.

The vast participation in Medicare APMs programs is a clear signal that the shift to value-based payment and care delivery will continue to grow and likely accelerate as providers evaluate alternative payment models under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA).

We are eager to continue supporting the Medicare APM members of Premier's Population Health Management Collaborative, which have consistently outperformed their peers in achieving shared savings and quality improvement. Premier provides Advanced Collaborative members a cost, quality and utilization benchmarking program which has proven to be critical to performance improvement and success in attaining shared savings. These programs are critical to aligning incentives that support an innovative, value-based and consumer-directed healthcare delivery system.
