Press release 23 January 2018 at 12:00 pm EET

As part of its co-operation with universities in Finland Pöyry recently invited technology and business students from Aalto University for an excursion to the company's headquarters. Discussions with students focused on global megatrends and their impact on societies and people's lives, as well as the new business opportunities they trigger.

Following up on the discussions, Pöyry invited the students to enter a competition to hear their thoughts on the possibilities created by the megatrends.

'The megatrends trigger opportunities at an ever-increasing pace. Companies will have to solve issues related to, for example, renewable energy, bioeconomy, clean water and sanitation and digitalisation. The future talents of consulting and engineering are in a key role to create solutions that turn megatrends into new business opportunities,' said Martin à Porta, CEO of Pöyry PLC.

The contestants with the top five submissions will be invited to present their ideas in person to Pöyry's management. The contestant with the winning entry will get to work as 'CEO for a Day', shadowing Martin à Porta and also, Juuso Pajunen, CFO, Pöyry PLC, later in the Spring.
