PIMCO Corporate & Income Strategy Fund announced earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended July 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net investment income of $13,771,998 or $0.37 compared to $15,257,991 or $0.40 a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized gain was $25,413,777 or $0.67 per common share compared to net realized and change in unrealized loss of $21,142,282 or $0.56 per share a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported net investment income of $43,750,493 or $1.16 compared to $48,430,584 or $1.29 a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized gain was $59,548,043 or $1.59 per common share compared to net realized and change in unrealized loss of $8,761,702 or $0.23 per share a year ago.
PIMCO Corporate & Income Strategy Fund (the Fund) is a closed-end management investment company. The Fundâs primary investment objective is to seek high current income, with secondary objectives of capital preservation and appreciation.
