PLANO, Texas, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- West Georgia Health System (WGHS) and Perot Systems (NYSE: PER) (www.perotsystems.com) today announced that Perot Systems will provide Revenue Cycle services to the LaGrange, Georgia-based hospital organization. The agreement will enable WGHS to utilize Perot Systems' revenue cycle technology and its proven best practices for revenue cycle improvements. West Georgia expects to lower administrative costs related to its revenue cycle and increase cash flow by improving its billing and reimbursement processes.

The seven-year agreement covers services for patient access and business office functions and builds upon a long-standing relationship between the two companies. Most recently, Perot Systems provided WGHS with Revenue Cycle and Information Technology (IT) support services to help it implement an enhanced health care information systems platform, MEDITECH 6.0. By adding Revenue Cycle expertise from Perot Systems and utilizing the MEDITECH-enabled Centralized Business Office (CBO), West Georgia will have access to enhanced administration and financial management software and process tools to enable end-to-end efficiency improvements in the hospital business office. These combined improvements are expected to drive sustainable increases in cash collections for WGHS.

"We expect to receive a number of benefits as a result of our relationship with Perot Systems," said West Georgia Health System Senior Vice President/CFO Paul Perrotti. "First, we anticipate our business will be strengthened through improvements in cash collection and cash flow. Additionally, we expect the relationship will help us refine the patient registration process and improve patient satisfaction, which is a win for our patients, families and the health system."

"We were excited to work with WGHS on their market-leading implementation of MEDITECH 6.0. We are eager to drive improvements in their Revenue Cycle and expect to help generate fresh capital for their expanding organization," stated Chuck Lyles, president of Perot Systems' health care group.
