Orissa Sponge Iron & Steel Limited is engaged in producing sponge iron, steel billets and power. The Company operates in the segment of Iron & Steel. The Company also provides engineering and technical services, including engineering services including testing of raw materials, plant engineering services, supervision services and supply of equipment. The Company operates coal-based sponge iron plant, waste energy recovery-based power plants and a billet making plant. The Company's billet plant is equipped with water treatment plant and emergency cooling water system. The Company's power plant consists of various units, such as over two waste heat recovery boilers (WHRBs), over two atmospheric fluidized bed combustion boilers (AFBC) and approximately two turbo generator units (TG). Its production facilities are located at village Palaspanga, District Keonjhar, Orissa, which is approximately 240 kilometers from Bhubaneswar and approximately 20 kilometers from Keonjhar Town.
