Nippon Electric Glass Co. Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended December 31, 2011. For the period, the company reported net income of JPY 27,481 million or JPY 55.25 per share on net sales of JPY 264,845 million compared to net income of JPY 58,414 million or JPY 117.43 per share on net sales of JPY 299,881 million reported a year ago. Operating income was JPY 59,122 million compared to JPY 98,597 million reported a year ago.
For the year ending March 31, 2012, the company expects net income of JPY 28,500 million - JPY 31,500 million, net income per share of JPY 57.30 - JPY 63.33, net sales of JPY 337,000 million - JPY 347,000 million, operating income of JPY 61,500 million - JPY 66,500 million.
For the year ending March 31, 2012, the company expects year end dividend of JPY 7 per share - JPY 8 per share and annual dividend of JPY 14 per share - JPY 15 per share.
For the third quarter ended December 31, 2011, the company announced no dividend compared to JPY 6 per share for the second quarter of fiscal 2012.
Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing specialty glasses. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- glasses for electronic components (52.9%): LCD screen glasses, plasma screens, cathode ray tubes, optic products, etc.;
- performance glasses (47.1%): mainly glasses fibers, heat-resistant glasses, glass tubes for lighting, glass tubes for pharmaceutical and medical uses, glass films and glasses for building materials.
At the end of 2021, the group had 16 production sites worldwide.
