NIIT Ltd. reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 1,458.4 million against INR 1,491.9 million a year ago. Loss from operations before other income, finance costs & exceptional items was INR 172.5 million against INR 164.6 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 4.8 million against INR 755.7 million a year ago. Net loss was INR 29.9 million or INR 0.18 per basic and diluted share against net profit of INR 557.5 million or INR 3.38 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 4,921.4 million against INR 5,017.3 million a year ago. Loss from operations before other income, finance costs & exceptional items was INR 283.8 million against INR 213.9 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 8.5 million against INR 707.7 million a year ago. Net loss was INR 26.7 million or INR 0.16 per basic and diluted share against net profit of INR 529.8 million or INR 3.21 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
