Neuron Bio, SA (CATS:NEU) acquired the remaining 50% stake in NEOL Biosolutions, S.A. from Repsol, S.A. (CATS:REP) for €4.5 million on December 17, 2014. Neuron Bio, SA now holds 100% stake in NEOL Biosolutions.
Neuron Bio, SA (CATS:NEU) completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in NEOL Biosolutions, S.A. from Repsol, S.A. (CATS:REP) on December 17, 2014.
Neol Biosolutions SA is a Spain-based company engaged in the environmental biotechnology. The Company focuses on the development of biotechnological processes, which reduce the use of chemical contaminants, as well as the amount of agricultural and industrial waste. The Company owns a technological platform, named MicroBioTools by Neol, which includes a collection of microorganisms for various industrial processes. It provides solutions within a number of areas: Oleochemicals, offering conversion of agricultural and industrial waste into oils, fatty acids and fatty alcohols; Omega 3 docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), deriving DHA-rich oils from selected culture of microalgae; Bioplastics, producing biopolymers from fermentation of renewable raw materials, and Bioenergy, obtaining biofuels from raw materials, such as agricultural residues and waste.
