Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition. On January 10, 2022, Moderna, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release (the "Press Release") in connection with the Company's presentation on the same date at the 40th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. In the Press Release, the Company states that for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021, it delivered approximately 807 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine worldwide, consisting of both 50 µg and 100 µg/dose presentations, the equivalent of approximately 790 million doses at 100 µg/dose.

The Press Release also contains certain preliminary financial information for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021. Specifically, the Press Release states that the Company generated approximately $17.5 billion in product sales (unaudited) for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021 from sales of its COVID-19 vaccine.

The information in this Item 2.02 is unaudited and preliminary, and does not present all information necessary for an understanding of the Company's results of operations for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021.
