Meridian Bank VP Jimmy Durán Appointed to State Committee on Latino Affairs

Malvern, Pa. (January 10, 2020) - Meridian Bank announced that Jimmy Durán, VP SBA Lending, has been appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to join the Governor's Action Committee on Latino Affairs (GACLA).

Dedicated to advising the governor on policies and legislation that impact Latino communities, GACLA is composed of 20 volunteer members appointed by the Governor to serve a two- year term. Mr. Durán's term will begin when he is sworn in on January 10, 2020 in Harrisburg.

As a committee member on policy matters at the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Durán is familiar with the challenges Philadelphia Latinos face, particularly in business. In his new role with GACLA, Mr. Durán will support the community by addressing the challenges Philadelphia new arrivals and emerging entrepreneurs face, particularly in business, finance and access to capital. In addition to helping them navigate bureaucratic and municipal regulations, he also has the expertise to connect them to sources of capital, and identify opportunities and connections which will contribute to a thriving Latino business community in Philadelphia.
