Medworxx Solutions Inc. ("Medworxx") (TSX VENTURE: MWX), a leading healthcare patient flow software solutions provider, is pleased to announce that Community Regional Medical Center has licensed the Medworxx Patient Flow Platform to improve patient flow and specifically reduce Emergency Department crowding. Based in Fresno, California, Community Regional Medical Center is the region's largest health care provider with over 800 beds (including their behaviour and extended care facilities) and has one of the nation’s busiest Emergency Departments with 106,500 patient visits in 20131.

The hospital completed a diagnostic Patient Throughput Review (PTR) led by Medworxx in February 2015 and decided to invest in the implementation of the Medworxx solution for daily operational use. This academic and medical center will implement the Medworxx Clinical Criteria module to support advanced patient flow work. Medworxx analytics will be used by the Case Managers and the Command Center team to help monitor, plan and implement processes to improve patient flow. The Medworxx Clinical Criteria module will enable the hospital to identify the clinical appropriateness of each patient’s level of care, each day, and will provide clinicians with the ability to match patients with the right level of care, at the right time and in the most appropriate setting. The Medworxx Patient Flow Platform will interface with their EPIC EHR.

Medworxx combines; unique methodology, process, communication, technology, and clinical information as a decision support tool for all levels of an organization. All Medworxx Patient Flow modules are in real-time, enabling staff to make evidence-based decisions quickly. The Medworxx Patient Flow Platform provides hospitals with tools to bridge clinical and operational assessments on daily patient flow – optimal for health care systems addressing issues of overcapacity, wait times and care coordination.

“I have extensive experience working with patient flow and case management solutions in the US marketplace and have not seen a solution that effectively identifies patient flow barriers in a way that the Medworxx solution does,” said Mark Kestner MD, Chief Medical Innovation Officer, Community Regional Medical Center. “We strongly believe that the Medworxx solution will quickly help us improve care coordination and bed management and free up bed capacity to improve our ED throughput challenges. While we will continue to use InterQual for admission screening our expectation is to use the Medworxx solution for continued stay reviews.”

“We always believed that there was the opportunity for the Medworxx Clinical Criteria solution to provide value in the US healthcare system even though other decision-support criteria solutions have been implemented in the United States for many years now,” said Dan Matlow, President and CEO, Medworxx. “We strongly believe our combined methodology and technology creates an opportunity for US healthcare providers to change the way they view the use of clinical criteria to improve patient flow. Having organizations in the US that share our vision is a large step in our validation of Medworxx being an effective solution for this important market.”
