Medworxx Solutions Inc. ("Medworxx") (TSX VENTURE:MWX), a leading healthcare patient flow software solutions provider, is pleased to announce that Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) has secured additional Medworxx Patient Flow Platform licenses. Community Regional Medical Center began working with Medworxx in February 2015 and has since implemented the Medworxx Clinical Criteria Module to support the facility’s advanced patient flow work. The training implementation phase was completed in May 2015 across four units at CRMC. This phase demonstrated enough value to support the business case for an enterprise license grant of the Clinical Criteria module for all of CRMC. In addition, CRMC has also decided to license the Bed Management module across the entire hospital. The decision to purchase the additional Clinical Criteria licenses and implement the Bed Management module expands the hospital’s multi-unit rollout across the entire CRMC campus.

Based in Fresno, California, Community Regional Medical Center is the region's largest health care provider with over 800 beds and has one of the nation’s busiest Emergency Departments with 106,500 patient visits in 20131. To address patient flow volume, Community Regional Medical Center developed a 24/7 Command Center (or “Air Traffic Control Center”) to oversee patient flow into and through their facility. The Medworxx solutions will support the CRMC “Command Center” approach which encourages smarter multi-disciplinary rounding, improves the Case Mix Index, mitigates denial risk, increases patient flow, and simplifies the workflow of the bedside clinician.

“Since CRMC had become busier, with increasing demand for all of our services, we had to innovate and evolve strategically in terms of how we managed capacity and patient throughput. This is why we designed and implemented our command center model in 2013. We found the combination of the Medworxx Bed Management and Clinical Criteria modules to be a unique and innovative approach for helping us to continue on our journey to improve our capacity management and throughput. Our plan is to leverage these solutions to continue to improve our financial performance and the quality of care that CRMC provides. And our longer term goal includes using Medworxx as the clinical decision support solution that aligns our public and private payer stakeholders, moving away from the use of InterQual, because we will have a single solution through Medworxx that supports revenue cycle and the clinical and operational utilization needs of CRMC,” said, Mark Kestner MD, Chief Medical Innovation Officer, Community Regional Medical Center.

We are very excited about the decision made by CRMCs executive and clinical leadership to invest in the Bed Management module and expand the use of the Medworxx Clinical Criteria module across all beds. This will be our first Bed Management module implementation in the US. CRMC is an organization dedicated to innovation and quality and we look forward to supporting them with our Patient Flow Platform,” said, Niels Tofting, SVP, Business Development.
