Mechanics Bank has appointed Christopher Williams as vice president and senior relationship manager for Walnut Creek commercial banking office. Christopher L. Williams previously had been at Menlo Capital Group, San Francisco, CA, and before that at Opus Bank. He also has held senior positions at US Bank, Comerica, and Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.

He is a member of the San Francisco and Oakland Chambers of Commerce. Greg Smith, JD, is vice president, senior relationship manager in the bank's San Francisco office. He formerly was at Luther Burbank Savings, where he was vice president, special assets.

Prior to that he handled structured loan special servicing at Wells Fargo's San Francisco Commercial Mortgage unit. Mr. Smith is a Bay Area board member of California Receiver's Forum and is a member of the Special Assets Management Association. Jay Fischler joined Mechanics Bank as vice president, senior relationship manager from JP Morgan Chase, where he was a relationship manager in the Walnut Creek Office.

He will work out of the Mechanics Bank Walnut Creek Commercial Banking Office. David Ryan joins Mechanics Bank from City National Bank, where he was a vice president/senior relationship manager in their San Francisco Office. He is a vice president, senior relationship manager in the San Francisco Office of Mechanics Bank.

He previously had positions with Preferred Banker, Wachovia, Wells Fargo and First Republic. Gabe Brown also joins the San Francisco Commercial Banking Office of Mechanics Bank as a vice president, senior relationship manager. He previously was with the Real Estate Industries division of Bank of the West.
