Lawson Software, Inc. : City of Savannah Completes Deployment of Multiple Lawson Enterprise Software Suites

Financial, supply chain and business intelligence solutions to help city streamline internal processes and improve productivity

, an Infor affiliate, today announced that the City of Savannah, Georgia, recently completed its deployment of multiple Lawson enterprise application suites. The implementation included Lawson , , , applications. It also included user productivity and analytics tools through Lawson Smart Office and Lawson Business Intelligence. This deployment is helping the city automate financial approval processes, increase reporting transparency and reduce operating costs by supporting more efficient financial, supply chain and business processes. Lawson Professional Services provided implementation services for the project rollout.

Savannah is the fourth-largest city in Georgia. Home to more than 136,000 residents, the city is served by 2,500 employees and visited by millions of tourists each year. The City of Savannah is replacing multiple legacy IT systems, which had been in use for more than 15 years, with a modern system that helps eliminate paper processes, allows for faster and more efficient processing and provides better reporting capabilities. The city plans to put in place Lawson , Human Resources and Payroll applications, including Employee and Manager Self-Service applications as a final phase of the Lawson implementation.

The Lawson applications will help the city focus on key business objectives, including:

• Automating approvals for supplier invoices through Requisition Center workflow approvals and online receiving;

• Improving transparency of financial data by providing timely online reports through Lawson Portal;

• Improving productivity and eliminating duplication by connecting Lawson Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing applications for supplier bids and enabling suppliers to submit bids online.
