Koito Manufacturing Co. Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the nine months ended December 31, 2016. For the period, the company reported net sales of JPY 603,143 million against JPY 595,914 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 63,581 million against JPY 55,613 million a year ago. Recurring profit was JPY 66,009 million against JPY 57,877 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 39,938 million or JPY 248.54 per share against JPY 29,733 million or JPY 185.03 per share a year ago. Net income per diluted share was JPY 248.44 against JPY 184.99 a year ago.
For the year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects consolidated net sales of JPY 824,000 million, operating income of JPY 89,000 million, recurring profit of JPY 92,000 million and profit attributable to owners of parent company of JPY 55,000 million or JPY 342.27 per share.
For the year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects non-consolidated net sales of JPY 297,000 million, operating income of JPY 28,000 million, recurring profit of JPY 44,000 million and net income of JPY 31,000 million or JPY 192.91 per share.
KOITO MANUFACTURING CO., LTD. is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of automotive lighting equipment, aircraft parts, railway vehicles parts, electrical equipment and measuring equipment. The Company mainly operates in six segments, including Japan, China, Asia, North America, Europe and Others. The Companyâs major products include light-emitting diode (LED) head lamps, discharge head lamps, headlights, sign lamps, high mount stop lamps, halogen bulbs, miniature bulbs and other lamp fittings, control equipment for rail vehicles, roads traffic signals, traffic control systems, roads and tunnels illumination lamps, facilities illumination lamps, accommodation equipment, aircraft parts, electronic parts, head lamps cleaners, sheets for aircraft and rail vehicles, as well as environment control equipment. The Company is also engaged in the development and manufacture of forward monitoring operation support systems for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) through subsidiary.
