In the previous post, we learned how Advanced Capture helps you increase customer engagement in any customer-facing scenario. We will wrap up this series with a view on how Advanced Capture delivers enterprise agility.

Deliver Enterprise Agility, radically transforming and simplifying the First Mile of customer engagement

So far we've considered advanced capture in various situations - from digital mailroom, to invoice processing, to claims processing, to mobile banking, to mortgage application processing. But to the visionary C-level executive who wants to leap frog the competition and truly transform their entire operation and their customers' experience, I ask,

Knowing what documents and data you have, and sending those documents and data to the right people and systems, you can automate the flow of information throughout every department. You improve your ability to respond to changing business conditions and customer needs. You can truly radically transform and simplify your business.

Here are some examples:

  • Streamlining your AP processes and your HR onboarding processes for better information visibility
  • Optimize the receipt and processing of new account applications for better operations
  • Upgrade your claims submission process for an improved customer experience

Each of these processes requires advanced capture, and once deployed you'll have an agile enterprise that's more competitive and profitable.

Financial Agility

Some of our customers have done just this. A customer in the financial services space uses Advanced Capture to classify and extract content from over 20 million banking documents per year coming in from all over the world, representing many thousands of different document types. These documents are used in over 100 document-driven business processes across the organization. This bank can quickly access and process relevant customer data earlier in the process, allowing it to respond more quickly to its customers and leap-frog the competition.

Government Agility

The County of Ventura, California's Health Services Agency was tasked with providing constituents standard and timely services, meeting state and federal performance mandates, all while managing a decreasing or flat budget. In short, they needed enterprise agility.

So the agency developed a case management system that handles a myriad of processes, from citizen enrollment, to benefits application and administration and to customer service. This system ensures workers are able to service all client requests regardless of location, in a purely digital way, eliminating paper and automating and optimizing business processes that use advanced capture on over 640 forms.

The future of advanced capture is all about agility. Rather than spend months building a project that automates classification, separation and extraction, only to launch it to a changing environment, focus on getting the project up and running quickly, creating systems that learn as they encounter new documents and fields. Advanced capture technology makes efficiency and productivity its number one goal, enabled by an easy-to-use learning approach to documents and data that gets smarter without getting more complex.

The Bottom Line on Capture

By adding advanced capture to your imaging solution, you can gain additional value by

  • improving information visibility
  • achieving operational excellence
  • increasing customer engagement
  • delivering enterprise agility

Advanced capture helps you speed First Mile business processes, reduce manual document classification and data entry cost, improve data quality and compliance, and better engage customers.

Taking it a step further, you can maximize value to your business by combining advanced capture with other "Smart Process Application" components, some of which I've mentioned in the customer examples in this blog series: components like mobility for capture and collaboration; BPM and case management for process automation and collaboration; data integration for access to the right data at the right time; BI/analytics for capture and process-related KPI dashboards; e-signature for seamless, paperless signatures; and customer communications management for customized document output.

When orchestrated well, you have a powerful end-to-end arsenal of capabilities to solve your First Mile business challenges. What are your First Mile challenges? Email me at ryan.bazler@kofax.com.
