Companies Announcements Office Australian Securities Exchange

6 July 2017

Dear Sir/Madam,

KPT welcomes EIS guidelines for proposed deep water wharf

Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers Ltd (KPT or the Company) announced on 30 June 2017 that the guidelines for environmental reporting regarding the proposed wharf at Smith Bay on Kangaroo Island had been released on an embargoed basis. These guidelines are now publicly available on the Major Developments section of the sa.gov.au website. The Company is now able to comment on

the guidelines.

The Company is pleased with the content and level of detail of the guidelines and with the evidence-based approach required by the independent Development Assessment Commission. As expected, the Company is required to produce an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The matters to be addressed in the EIS are as anticipated and can be satisfactorily addressed by studies that have already been conducted or are underway.

There are no matters that seem likely to cause significant additional costs or that are likely to lead to delays in the finalisation of the EIS. The Company now has certainty about what it needs to do and the evidence it must provide.

The task of collating and organising the information to be provided so that it directly addresses the guidelines remains to be completed and is likely to take several months. The Company remains focused on completing its responsibilities under the development assessment process to a high standard, and in sufficient time to enable the SA Government to make a final decision this calendar year.

Yours sincerely,

Victoria Allinson Company Secretary
