Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd (the
"Company") wishes to announce the following
appointments to the board of directors of the Company (the
"Board"):
(a) Professor Neo Boon Siong was appointed to the Board as an
independent non-executive director with effect from 2 May
2012. Professor Neo was also appointed as chairman of the
Audit Committee and a member of the Board Risk Committee;
and
(b) Mr Michael Chia Hock Chye was appointed to the Board as a
non-independent non-executive director with effect from 2 May
2012. Mr Chia was also appointed as a member of the Board
Risk Committee.
Professor Neo is Chairman of the Nanyang Executive Education
and former Dean of the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore. He taught at the Lee
Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in the National University
of Singapore from 2006 to 2010, and is a Fellow of the Civil
Service College and the Centre for Liveable Cities. He was
the founder Director of the Information Management Research
Centre (IMARC) in NTU and the Asia Competitiveness Institute
in NUS. He currently serves as independent director on the
board of directors of OCBC Bank and k1
Ventures Ltd.
Professor Neo is a Certified Public Accountant (Singapore)
and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from the
National University of Singapore, and MBA and PhD degrees
from the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He completed
executive programs at the Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan
School, and Cornell Hotel School.
The Board considers Professor Neo an independent director for
the purposes of Rule 704(8) of the
Listing Manual.
Following the above changes, the new composition of the Board
and the Board committees will be as follows:
