KB Home announced the opening of The Cove at Bay Pines in St. Petersburg, where it plans to construct 56 single-family homes. KB Home is already active in the Tampa-St.

Petersburg area, with five KB Home communities currently open for new home sales. In addition to The Cove at Bay Pines, KB Home plans to open a community called Boca Ceiga in St. Petersburg in early 2014.

The Cove at Bay Pines is located just two miles from Madeira Beach with easy access to other local beaches including Redington, St. Pete and Clearwater. The commuter-friendly community is also minutes from I-275, the Gandy Bridge and Sunshine Skyway Bridge and offers convenient access to recreational activities at Treasure Island, Tropicana Field and John's Pass Village.

The Cove at Bay Pines will be served by the nationally recognized Pinellas County School District. Five two-story floor plans will be available at The Cove at Bay Pines, ranging between 2,294 and 3,290 square feet, with up to six bedrooms and three baths. All KB homes at The Cove at Bay Pines can be personalized to meet the individual needs of each homebuyer.

For example, home shoppers may opt for a first-floor bedroom with attached bath in lieu of a formal den, or a covered patio in the backyard. In addition to choosing their home's décor, KB homebuyers can also enhance their home's technological capabilities by including modern conveniences like multi-room audio systems, digital flat-panel television prewiring, home automation systems and security packages during the building process. All new KB home also include a Wiser(TM) home management system, which will allow homeowners to track their home's energy consumption, in real-time, from practically anywhere.

The standard system is also the base of a platform that can be enhanced to include home automation features such as remote door lock control, lighting, thermostat and security system operations.
