Japan Publications Trading Co., Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended June 2021. For the period, the company reported revenue was JPY 2,417 million against JPY 1,779 million a year ago. Operating profit was JPY 88 million against JPY 8 million a year ago. Ordinary profit was JPY 102 million against JPY 3 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 62 million against loss attributable to owners of parent was JPY 2 million a year ago. Comprehensive income was JPY 89 million against comprehensive loss was JPY 1 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share were JPY 90.23 against loss of JPY 2.97 a year ago.

The Company operates through four business segments. The Publication and Miscellaneous Goods Export segment is involved in the sale of general miscellaneous goods such as Japanese books and magazines, English books and magazines and ceramics. The Foreign Books segment is involved in the sale of foreign books and magazines. The Media segment is involved in the sale of general merchandise such as compact discs, digital video discs, stationery and ceramics. The Real Estate Leasing segment is involved in the leasing of office buildings. The Company is also involved in the sale of subsidiaries publications and general merchandise.
