Notice Concerning Changes in Representative Directors and Executive Officers Personnel

Japan Display, Inc. ("JDI") announces it has decided the following changes, at the board of directors meeting held on September 13, 2019: (i) to change the representative directors to be decided at the board of directors meeting to be held after the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to be held on September 27, 2019 (the "Shareholders Meeting"), and (ii) to make changes to the executive officers personnel and organization system as of October 1, 2019.

1. Changes in Representative Director

(1) Reason for the Changes

As stated in the press release dated August 9, 2019 titled "Notice Concerning a Change in Representative Directors, Nominations of Candidates for Directors and a Portion of the Management System After the Payment of the Third- Party Allotment", Yoshiyuki Tsukizaki, President, Representative Director and Chief Executive Officer and Sadahiro Numazawa, Senior Managing Representative Director and Chief Operating Officer, will resign from their positions as representative directors at the conclusion of the Shareholders Meeting. JDI today appointed Takahisa Hashimoto, outside director of JDI, and Minoru Kikuoka, Managing Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, to succeed the representative director positions.

Takahisa Hashimoto will be appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at a Board of Directors meeting to be held after the Shareholders Meeting. Minoru Kikuoka will be appointed as a Director at the Shareholders Meeting and will be appointed President, Representative Director and CEO at a Board of Directors meeting held thereafter.

2．Executive Officers

In the press release dated August 27, 2019 titled "Notice Concerning Nomination of Candidates for Directors and Appointment of Executive Officers", JDI stated the executive officers personnel as of October 1, 2019, JDI today decided on their positions as follows.

In addition, as stated today in "(Update and Progress of a Disclosure Matter）Notice Concerning Implementation of Structural Reforms through Downsizing of Mobile Business, Employee Reduction, Reduction of Executive Compensation, etc., and Renovation of Executive Officer Structure", JDI will drastically reduce the number of employees through the offering of early voluntary retirement, etc., and will need to make the most effective use of its internal personnel resources going forward. As a result, on October 1, 2019, JDI will abolish its in-housecompany system and adopt a divisional system in order to consolidate and streamline the functional divisions that have been assigned to each in-housecompany, while maintaining the clarification of the business responsibilities and the speed of decision-makingof each business units.
