Takashima Sangyo Limited agreed to acquire Kurosaki Store Annex from Izutsuya Co., Ltd. (TSE:8260) for ¥240 million on August 22, 2011. A contract is expected to be concluded by late August 2011. The Board of Directors of Izutsuya passed a resolution for the transaction on August 22, 2011 and the transaction is expected to be completed by December 2011.

IZUTSUYA CO., LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the department store business and other related business. The Company operates two business segments. The Department Store segment is involved in the sale of clothing, personal belongings, miscellaneous goods, household goods and foodstuffs, as well as the operation of restaurants and cafes. This segment is also involved in the provision of business tie-ups such as common use of gift certificates, the operation of restaurants in department store, the sale of gifts, the sale of merchandises to external customers, the wholesale of domestic and imported products, the cleaning of stores. The Tomonokai segment is involved in the sale of prepaid merchandise. The Company is also involved in the operation of information processing services through subsidiaries.
