Power Generation and On-grid Tariff for the First Quarter of 2021

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10B of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

As at 31 March 2021, the total amount of power generated by Huadian Power International Corporation Limited* (the "Company") and its subsidiaries (the "Group") calculated on the basis of the consolidated financial statements of the Group according to the China Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises for the first quarter of the year 2021 was 59.90 million MWh, representing an increase of approximately 28.67% as compared with that for the same period of last year; and the total amount of on-grid electricity sold was 56.18 million MWh, representing an increase of approximately 29.21% as compared with that for the same period of last year. The year-on-year increase in power generation and on-grid electricity sold was mainly attributable to the strong power demand in the service regions of the Group. The market based electricity sold by the Group for the first quarter of the year 2021 was approximately 29.72 million MWh, with a ratio of 52.91% comparing to the corresponding total on-grid electricity sold, representing an increase of 6.21 percentage points from 46.7% as compared with that for the same period of last year. The average tariff of on-grid electricity sold by the Group for first quarter of the year 2021 was RMB419.71 per MWh, representing an increase of approximately 1.84% as compared with that for the same period of last year.
