When we see Rakshata at her workplace, she's always smiling, ready to help. She enjoys her job, as it gives her the confidence and direction required in life. 'It's great to have Rakshata on the team. She is a great inspiration and motivation to all, and despite her limitation, she is on top of all tasks at the workplace' says her manager. If we take a closer look, we see that Rakshata's 'limitation' is the paralysis in her left hand. But this disability has far from deterred her. Young Rakshata has lived a tough life. Hailing from a middle-class Mumbai family, she fought all odds to complete her academia. In August 2018, Rakshata was hired for her first job at Concentrix.

Concentrix is the latest business partner to collaborate with HUL's Consumer Engagement Center or CEC. CEC India is an initiative under the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan, that aims to enhance livelihoods by creating employment opportunities for differently abled and socioeconomically underprivileged people.

CEC India continuously collaborates with non-profit organisations to hire individuals who would otherwise face a lack of opportunities due to their special needs. Today, CEC India has 5% differently abled staff and 31% who are from socioeconomically underprivileged backgrounds.

As a company that has always believed in the strength of its people, we realise the need to empower differently abled people and contribute towards an inclusive nation.
