(Alliance News) - Greenthesis Spa announced on Tuesday that the Temporary Grouping of Companies, of which it is the group leader with a 60% share and in which multi-utility Hera Spa, through its subsidiary ACR di Reggiani Albertino Spa, and Nico Srl also participate, has signed the contract for the works related to the executive design and execution of the decommissioning, remediation and permanent safety interventions at the Caffaro plant in Brescia.

The works in question, having a total amount in the order of EUR45 million, starting in the immediate with the design phase will have a contractual duration of about 41 months.

More specifically, after an initial phase of executive design, preparatory to the precise definition of the various interventions to be carried out, first the buildings will be demolished and the plant structures reclaimed and, subsequently, also by means of various in situ reclamation techniques, the activities of deep soil remediation and permanent safety of the excavated land will be conducted.

Damiano Belli, board member and Chief Business Officer of Greenthesis for Remediation, said: "The award and execution of this new environmental remediation project, in which Greenthesis is taking part, will allow our company and the entire grouping of companies to express in the field all the technical know-how with which we are endowed thanks to the matured decades of experience developed by carrying out remediations in many of the most relevant sites of national interest in the Italian territory; this challenging work commitment makes us particularly proud, as it gives us the opportunity to contribute concretely to a great territorial requalification operation that the city of Brescia has been waiting for several years."

Greenthesis' stock closed Tuesday down 0.5 percent at EUR2.22 per share.
