GPI LEADS THE FIRST-PLACE GROUPING IN THE TWO CONSIP FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT LOTS FOR CUP SOFTWARE AND DATA INTEROPERABILITY OVERALL VALUE: EURO 300 MILLION

Trento, 20 July 2022

Gpi leads the Temporary Business Grouping (RTI) that took first place in the awarding of two lots of the Consip tender, relating to a Framework Agreement for the provision of application and support services in the area of "Digital Health - Health Information Systems and Services to Citizens" for the Public Administrations of the Italian National Health Service. These are the two territorial lots dedicated to the North and Central South areas for a total amount of up to EUR 300 million, including EUR 50 million for possible extensions.

Both lots concern the area of software for the management of the Cup and the interoperability of health data. Cup (Unified Booking Centre) refers to the centralised booking system for healthcare services, which facilitates access to healthcare services and monitors overall demand and supply, for the purpose of managing waiting lists. Interoperability of health data, on the other hand, refers to projects that tend to improve the sharing of health data and systems, including those pertaining to different entities (hospitals, health authorities, regions, etc.), using consolidated standards.

The Gpi-led RTI, consisting of leading national and international companies, start-ups and innovative SMEs, achieved the best score due to its high quality technical offer and will be eligible, in part, for priority direct awards. The share reserved for Gpi is approximately 21% in both lots.

The Framework Agreement will have a term of 18 months, with a possible extension up to 12 months, subject to a ceiling. The individual implementation contracts will have a maximum term of 48 months from the date of signing.

This is a "final, non-effective" award: the contract with Consip will be signed once the time/regulatory conditions foreseen in this type of tender have been met.

This Framework Agreement - which replicates the model of the Framework Agreement for telemedicine and electronic medical records in which the other Gpi-led RTI came first (release of 26 April 2022)- is part of a context of rationalisation and centralisation of tenders, aimed at supporting the digitalisation of the Italian National Health System in all its branches.
