GEO has announced the appointment of two Sydney-based independent, Non-Executive Directors, Peter O'Connel and Tim Ebbeck. Peter is a co-founder of ASX-listed telecommunications company Amaysim and was its Executive Chair from incorporation until June 2015. He practiced as a lawyer from 1979 to 1994, a partner in Minter El ison and Gilbert & Tobin, acting for large Australian and international corporates in the telecommunications and technology sectors. Peter served as a director of both Optus and Bel South New Zealand and subsequently founded a boutique advisory business in telecommunications and technology sectors before holding senior executive and CEO roles. Since 2008 Peter has focused on his own investments, largely in technology-driven companies. Peter has served on several boards for private and public companies including: Ticketek, Sigtech, Perisher Blue, GMD, Stadium Australia and government boards including Film Australia, Trustee of the Australian Museum, NSW Major Events Board and NSW Rail Access Corporation. Peter will chair the company's Remuneration and Nomination Committee. Tim was formerly CEO of Oracle Australia New Zealand, Chief Commercial Of icer of NBN Co and CEO of SAP Australia and New Zealand. He led the first strategic review of the NBN in 2013. Tim now runs his own business advising companies on leadership and transformation, undertaking strategic and governance reviews, in addition to his portfolio of directorships. His Board experience includes Director of CPA Australia, Trustee of the NSW Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Director of Nvoi Limited (ASX), Director of Nextgen Distributon, Member of Innovation Taskforce and Sustainable Growth Taskforce at the Business Council of Australia, Board advisor to My Wave Pty Limited, Non-Executive Chairman for Insite Organisation Pty Ltd. and Director for SkynetGlobal Limited (ASX). Tim will chair the company's Risk and Audit Committee from fiscal year 2018.
