An unknown buyer acquired 9.47% stake in Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV:GCC *) from CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV:CEMEX CPO) for approximately $170 million on September 27, 2017. As part of the deal, CEMEX sold 31.5 million shares in Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua. Post transaction, Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua holds no stake. Proceeds from the sale will be used mainly for debt reduction and for general corporate purposes.

GCC SAB de CV, formerly known as Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua SAB de CV, is a Mexico-based company primarily engaged in the construction materials sector. The Company foocuses on the production and marketing of cement and other related building materials. The Companyâs product portfolio includes Portland grey cements, ready-mixed concrete, gypsum, additives and limestone aggregates, as well as such prefabricated products as walls, architectural concrete blocks and paving stones, among others.
